Iβm a big fan of branch basics. You buy a liquid concentrate and mix to make various strength cleaners. I love it for an all purpose spray, a bathroom cleaner and a glass cleaner. I donβt love it for laundry. It doesnβt have a noticeable scent which is an issue for me with many βnatural/ nontoxic β cleaners. I use Puracy for laundry soap and love it.
Interesting tip about the olive oil! I have a few Canadian brands I can recommend for natural cleaning solutions, I believe they also ship to the US. Good Juju does PVA free laundry strips, and Nature Bee is my go-to for natural, low-waste cleaning products. They have tablets you drop in your spray bottle, then you just add water :)
Yes! I worry about the chemicals in the soap scum like my anti-hair loss shampoo... but do you think it's fine? My husband tends to compost liberally while I feel bad even putting pepperonis or candy in there
I guess it depends on what you're using the compost for and how heavily "soiled" the peels are when you're finished. I wouldn't have a problem if you were using your compost for houseplants or outdoor ornamentals, probably would be a little more discerning if it were for my garden or anything edible.
Can attest to the vodka trick! I use Popov vodka and usually feel the need to tell the cashier that itβs for deodorizing π«’ I soaked clippings from my Christmas tree in vinegar, and love using the vinegar in DIY cleaning spray. The combination with those orange peel scrub pads would be π€π»
I use the Blueland cleaning sprays and am a big fan! Did just want to note that the reusable spray bottles are plastic, not glass. Hoping that they make glass ones available at some point!

Thanks so much for sharing, Marcella! This is the information we need!!
I had no idea that you could use orange peels as scrubbers. Genius!

Awesome! Only thing Iβd add to the orange scrubs is you might want to compost them if you can, rather than just throwing them away.
