I’m deeply loyal to Nellie’s laundry soda - only a few ingredients & super affordable if you buy in bulk. Also indoor plants are worth a mention re: cleaning the air inside!!
Wool deserves a mention in comforter and pillow options! I have often wished I had the extra budget to splurge on various wool bedding options. There are a few companies doing that now, most of them with ‘wool’ in the name. Coveting the Shepherd’s Dream duvet, and the Swan’s Island duvet. Home of Wool makes most kinds of bedding, esp uber-customizable mattresses, including for kids, but $$$.
Synthetic fragrance are also endocrine disruptors! Beeswax is the best candle wax to burn because of its air purifing qualifies. Also there is a subtle honey fragrance to enjoy 🌞
And if you are on a budget build your own Corsi-Rosenthal box, just search the term and you'll find the instructions. About $100. Tested to be just as effective.
So helpful and insightful, thank you for sharing your learnings with us!! I’ve been excited to get settled into a new apartment so that we can upgrade to some safer and more sustainable products.. hard to think about that when we still haven’t fully unpacked from the last move! When we’re moved into our next spot, I’m excited to be more intentional about what we have in our home <3
Thank for you this! On eco detergent, I LOVE Meliora —they have powdered unscented or scented detergent powder that is always in cardboard packing and you can get refills and sure so you get your supply regularly; they also have kitchen ‘hockey puck’ hard soap and bath soap. Really love, been using for years , family owned. I highly recommend
It’s a really great independent small company , and fully plastic free ! I’ve been buying from them for years, you can do subscriptions too it’s awesome
Thank you for all the information and resources, this was a very insightful read! I've never really thought about breathing in microplastics, so I'll be looking to make some switches in the future. I've been wanting to try out laundry strips - I used to use laundry powder to avoid plastic packaging (it usually comes in a cardboard box), but it's getting harder and harder to find. I also love essential oil and reed diffusers as candle alternatives!

So true! I have wool blankets but haven’t seen any 100% wool comforters. Think I saw a silk-wool blend? Thanks for sharing!!

Thank you!
It purifies the air?! That’s fascinating!

Thanks for reading 🧡 honestly it’s exhausting so we gotta get excited!
Do you have a recommendation for shower curtain liners?
That’s coming next week in my rugs and textiles post! Based on my search it looks like hemp and linen shower curtains are popular 👀
Looking forward to it! ☺️
