Wow, this is an unbelievably amazing list and amount of research! Thank you so much for this! I’m currently doing my best to buy all natural fibers when I buy new clothes but hadn’t thought about fun/sexy bras yet (not really wearing them at the moment as I’m nursing). I currently mainly wear Mate the Label sports bras which are 92% cotton 8% spandex, and which I love. Can’t wait to try some of these!
What a list! I’m stocked up on OG ARQ organic cotton bras but now that they’re out of business I’ll def be referencing this when it’s time to replace things. Ty!
thank you for doing all this research! it looks like they’re currently out of stock, but you might want to try oddobody—i love their cotton undies and it looks like they have 2 100% pima cotton bra styles that are allegedly coming back this year. another one that went out of business but still has some styles floating around the web is studio pia—i know they had a few 95% silk options!
I love their cotton undies! My only Cyber Monday purchase this year hehe. The bras were all sold out last time I checked, but I'll add them to the Bra List!
SOS. I’m loving this post and the Silky Crunch ethos, however I am new and I am a lil confused. So, are Lyocell and Tencel not considered plastic and pass the vibe check? Science is not my first language. Thank you for anyone willing to confirm for me :)
Lyocell and Tencel are plant-based, semi-synthetic materials. They’re not plastic, but the process of manufacturing them can be polluting and chemically intensive, so a lot of crunchy folks avoid them. I include them in my round-ups any time I mention silk/wool because some ethical vegans are looking for plant-based fibers, and they are still better than polyester for the body.
hi bird! There's quite a few that range in sizes and plastic content. Try using command F to search "padded" on this page. You could also buy the 100% cotton inserts from the honorable mentions!
Thanks so much for doing such a thorough deep dive into bras and plastics! After having had breast cancer (and previously cervical cancer), I am much more aware of what I put in my body as well as on my body. I'm wearing what I thought was a cotton bra, but now I'll have to take it off and have a closer look. I'll keep this post handy for sure!
Thank you for this list! I have Simply Merino's Bralette and really like it, though it isn't an all day/work bra for my 38DD chest. Very comfy for shorter periods of time tho!

you're so welcome, Jess! I have two Mate the Label sports bras and they have really held up over the years.

so sad, I've heard the best things about ARQ! Thanks for reading :)

There’s a beautiful brand here in New Zealand that is made from Tencel-I believe 95%

Thank you so much for providing this great list! Its so hard to find any underwear without any plastic.
I will also add Oddobody. They have super comfortable 100% cotton underwear and bras:

I love their underwear! I've been waiting for their bras to be back in stock for months... would love to try. Thanks for recommending!

Simple solution. Go braless. I do since other options are harmful one way or another.
amazing!! thank you. do you know of any plastic free bras with pads or inserts to conceal nips? thanks a million!

THANK YOU so much for making this oh my gosh!!!!
You’re welcome!! This means the world 💕
Always up for as much natural fiber as possible. But perhaps we find an alternative to Amazon and adding to the profits.
Incredible! This is so much work. Thank you for sharing it.
Means so much coming from you, Kara! Would it be too intimate if I asked what bras catch your fancy?
Thanks for sharing all of your hard work here!
I will have to take more time to look at the larger size options.
You're so welcome!! Any bras that you might consider?
